Blogs. I have many of them. Public blogs, private blogs, poetry blogs, prose blogs, photo blogs, project blogs, peer-edit blogs. It’s probably getting out of hand. But here’s one more for good measure. It’ll be my people blog, in keeping with true blogs-that-start-with-the-letter-’p’ tradition…. (???)
Whatever.
Honestly, people are fascinating. This blog is going to be the place where I attempt to assign a bunch of words to the often-times indescribable thoughts and actions that human beings produce on a daily basis. At the very most, I’d like to try and make some sort of sense out of the insanity that surrounds us. At the very least, I’d like to point things out. I’d venture to say that most of what I write here will fall somewhere in the middle.
But, what’s the point? Well, among other things, I hope I can learn about myself by observing other people. I’m of the opinion (get used to that phrase) that learning about yourself is one of the most important things you can do to help others. We could all take the advice of the late, great MJ and start with the man in the mirror. Ultimately, the two biggest reasons I feel compelled to write in this “people-diary” are:
1) I believe people can change
&
2) I believe we are meant to change.
There are other reasons. Like the fact that I’m at work from 11pm-7am. And the fact that I think too much for anyone’s own good. And the fact that I am sincerely interested in the feedback that a format such as this renders possible… (Whether or not these posts will actually garner any attention of that sort has obviously yet to be discovered… but, I’m a hopeful little blogger!)
As a sort of disclaimer, I would like to mention that I am by no means saying that I think everything everyone says and does is always fascinating. I repeat: by NO means.
But I do believe it all matters. I do think everything people do and say holds monumental significance. And that is why I think it is, at the very least, worth writing down.
