Let me say this. I’m not a football fan. I could give a rat’s a*% who wins. To me the Super Bowl is just another day to yell at the TV, eat a lot of food and drink. Sounds like my typical weekend. However, I always look forward to the commercials and the halftime performances. Here are my top 3 performances from Super Bowl memory lane:
3. I don’t think you can talk about the Super Bowl Halftime Show without talking about the Janet Jackson performance. Now let me say this. Yes, it was the breast seen around the world. Yes, you forgot about every other performance that night. Yes, it was a “WTF” moment in Super Bowl halftime history. But regardless of the malfunction, she put on a great show………period! I hate the fact that Janet took a hard fall to something that really wasn’t a big deal. Plus during the aftermath, Justin Timberlake played the situation like a Maury Povich guest who just got the results from a paternity test (you “are” the baby’s father). Didn’t JT apologize 50 years later about how he handled the situation?!?! What the hell?!? Anyway, despite all that, I still stand on the fact that Janet put on a great show. If it wasn’t for Janet, Britney Spears wouldn’t know who to copy.
2. I just love this performance by Prince. Between his guitar solo behind the sheet and the Marching 100, this was a jaw dropping show. I don’t know if he scheduled the rain with his “Purple Rain” performance but it really works 
. Plus he’s the only dude with heels and your mama’s headrag who still looks good. I’m serious!!! I mean that with all sincerity and no humorous malice. I love Prince!!!! How does he do that?!? I’m in awe.
1. You can’t have a post about Super Bowl halftime without having the “one” who’s done it better than anyone else!!! That’s the one and only Michael Jackson. This dude stands still for 1 to 2 minutes “letting it simmer” and thousands are screaming like they won a check from Publishing Clearing House. Do you hear me!?!? Who else can do that??? Only Michael!
